Production

Design, research and development

FEDESA applies the most advanced CAD-CAM technology in the development of its products.

Engineers and specialists work together on medium and long-term projects and in the research and development of new materials and production technologies.

Research and development is part of an ongoing process of market research, in which trends and their anticipation along with the high professionalism of the specialists are key factors in obtaining the suitable product at any given time.

The technology used in the construction of the pre-series of the new products is the same as that used in serial production, so quality is guaranteed from the creation of the product.

FEDESA, aware of the importance of this section, allocates 6.5 % of its turnover to the same, ensuring the constant updating of its staff in new techniques through top level training courses.

Electronics form an inseparable part of the equipment, contributing to reliability and permitting carefully designed ergonomics.

The new forms, materials and mechanisms are tested before use to ensure their suitability for the function.

Automatic processes ensure precision, quality and agreement between the specifications established in the plans and the finished piece; human error has been eliminated.

Our production resources

FEDESA is making major investments in its production capacity in response to the increased demand.

Clearly defined objectives form the basis of the increase in overall production activity: preparation of designs and productions that are as profitable as possible, increased quality, assembly and testing to guarantee the operative reliability of the product.

The application of these basic principles has been established and proved to be correct over the years.

The diversity of products also requires a flexible production system. FEDESA is self-sufficient in nearly all its resources, from mechanical work, bodywork, finishing and painting to wiring, electronics, assembly and quality control.

Speed of response to the needs of the market has always been one of our skills. Integration of designs, manufacturing resources and the construction of prototypes in a centralized programme ensures that each product is developed in a correct and controlled way right from the start.

It has been necessary to integrate different production processes to guarantee the quality demanded by the designs.

Where the human factor is necessary, the ongoing training of the person and a suitable atmosphere are inherent to the production process.

For the transformation of each part, the appropriate material, process and technology has been chosen.

The resources currently used are:

MACHINING: lathes and machining centres.
CNC PUNCHING: punch.
CNC SHEET BENDING: folder.
CNC WELDING: Robot
PLASTICS: injected polyurethane and plastic thermoforming.
UPHOLSTERY: specialized section.
PAINT: liquid and electrostatic types.
ASSEMBLY: separate lines for each product.

Quality

Right from the start, at FEDESA, QUALITY has been the pillar to which all other processes have been subordinated.

The quality system is fully comprehensive, ranging from the design and prototype to the functional behaviour of the product, through all the phases of manufacture.

The requirements are strict: safe production processes, self-control and control of 100% of finished product. Moreover, through continuous information about behaviour in service and the suggestions of Professionals and Distributors, the corrective measures are taken to generate a continuous improvement process. The quality system is adapted to the ISO 9001 requirements, having the TÜV 70 100F 1182 certification.

From the start, products are designed bearing in mind the UNE-EN-60601-1-2 standards and the applicable health specifications, so we have the EC mark in accordance with the 93/43/EEC health directive.

We believe that apart from the material procedures and media, the human factor is the main driving force of quality and, therefore, in a general way, all FEDESA employees are continuously informed and instructed in the performance of the processes they take part in. For FEDESA staff, Quality in all the different departments is an individually and collectively assumed goal.

The real test: a highly qualified, practical team carries out the monitoring and Control of each phase of production and assembly of our equipment.

100% of the functional characteristics of all the equipment are inspected.

We understand quality to be not just a standard to be worked towards and complied with, but as the detailed study of all the processes, either by analysis with the latest technology or objective analysis by the appropriate Technician, and in all different production processes.
